I’m thrilled to announce that I did indeed find a cover artist. I’m in love with his style and the preliminary sketches were spot on to what I’d imagined for the cover. I can’t wait to see it colored and finished.
In the meantime, I’ve finished my final-final edit of Yesterday’s Soldiers. Overall, I’m pretty pleased. I found some small errors, a couple homophones that would have been embarrassing in print, and an overabundance of hyphens. I don’t know why I was so overly fond of hyphens while writing this book, but they were EVERYWHERE. I had them in places I didn’t need them and didn’t have them in places where I did. Hyphens are my nemesis, apparently.
This week, I’ve also pulled out the start to the sequel to Yesterday’s Soldiers. It has four chapters written so far, but it’s been so long since I worked on it that I’ve had trouble remembering where I intended to go with it. Luckily, I also found a file with notes, but it’s clear that even when I started it, I didn’t have a solid idea of how the plot was going to resolve. I have some new ideas that I’m stirring around in my brain. Hopefully they come together soon.
