Introducing the Cat-atonic Kitties, Little Mac and Link! These sweet boys came into my life at the perfect time, when I was grieving for my first cat, Murphy, who had passed after a long battle with kidney disease. My husband and I have a friend who works at our vet, and about a week after my cat’s passing, he got a message that read, “I know you’re sad, but have you considered this,” followed by a picture:

My husband talked me into going to see them, and I fell in love with their stupid little faces. Little Mac, though he looks angelic in that picture, is a creature of extremes, both love and fight. He soundly thwacked his brother so many times during that first meeting that we decided to name him after the main character from a boxing video game. Link is, of course, named after the main character from Legend of Zelda, my husband’s favorite game series. Appropriately, he loves to climb things, including trying to climb the walls occasionally, and will eat any food if he’s allowed. Little Mac, on the other hand, always waits to eat until Link and their youngest adopted brother (who will get his own post soon) are done eating so that he can guard them. Unless it’s cardboard. I can’t seem to stop Little Mac from chewing on cardboard. Stay tuned for more tales of their adventures and adorable cat pictures in between book updates!
