And by that, I mean the waiting is almost over. I had an epic battle with my book files this weekend, but in the end, I was victorious. They uploaded to Amazon, and my other publishing platform of choice, IngramSpark. I expect most of my sales to come through Amazon, but IngramSpark gives me the opportunity to be in brick-and-mortar bookstores and libraries, which would be seriously cool.
I should have a real, physical proof of my book in my hands by this Wednesday. Hopefully everything will be as I want it and ready for publication. Assuming everything goes according to plan, the book will be launching for sale on February 22nd.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed and obsessively checking the book’s status on both platforms. Amazon didn’t give me much trouble, but IngramSpark wasn’t a fan of my images. Both my cover and my headshot caused different issues. The headshot was first too large and then too small. When I finally got the Goldilocks of headshots, it rejected my cover for having some sort of color profile attached. I did what I could, but couldn’t get it to go away. Then I just tried re-uploading my original file in frustration, and it went through. That doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, but I’m determined to be hopeful.
