Let’s address the elephant in the room. It’s been two years since I’ve posted anything here. The last time I posted, the site had a different name. I had a different job. I only had three cats instead of four, and thought that was a lot. My house renovations are still half finished, but my office has painted walls and flooring now. And I have a successful side business which has eaten up entirely too much of my time: Bibliofoliage. Hence the rename of my blog. I’ve decided to combine my ventures.
Not so coincidentally, I stopped posting here about the same time I got my new job two years ago. The transition really threw me off my stride, and then with Bibliofoliage taking off, I had very little capacity for blogging. Something had to give, and it ended up being this. Promotion for my book also suffered, though I have continued to sell a trickle of copies, especially by bringing them to craft fairs and markets. I’m hoping to fix that lack of promotion this year, as well as get some serious work done on the sequel. After all, I wrote one book, so I can do it again!
I’ve mentioned Bibliofoliage several times, and if you know me or follow me on social media, you probably know what it is. But in case you are a newcomer…first of all, welcome! I’m surprised and happy you’re here. Second, Bibliofoliage is my craft business where I make paper flowers out of damaged, secondhand book pages and use them in various decorations—ornaments and shadow boxes, mostly. So my two passion projects are both book-adjacent. I figure if you’re interested in one, you might be interested in the other as well, and it will give me something else to write about.
I’m still trying, so I haven’t failed. I’m still in the middle of the plot. Let’s see how long I can keep it going this time.
